Exceptional hotel and restaurant, for a one night stop or stay to explore the area…

It is always difficult to find a good, comfortable hotel at which to stop for the night travelling from Germany to France. The Il Capitolo is not just a good, comfortable hotel, it is so much more. The host, Nicola (who is as comfortable speaking English as he is Italian), provides a warm, caring welcome and from then on the one night stay becomes a holiday in itself. Dinner, cooked by the host’s wife, is exceptional! A small, varied menu of fresh local ingredients, beautifully prepared. Nicola will ensure you have everything you need, as excellent a restaurant host as hotel host. It is a joyful experience in every way, and incredible value for money.
The rooms are clean, very comfortable and spacious. One could not ask for more.
Breakfast is typically Italian, with delicious croissants and tarts, as well as cereal. Some people commenting have bemoaned the lack of something savoury, but just as Nicola and they will happily prepare something for you.
You may have difficulty with the car navigation locating the hotel. Put in the nearest village from the direction of your travel then use Google or Apple Maps for the last few kilometres.
In summary, if you are considering booking Il Capitolo please do so, even for one night you are made to feel so valued, your stay will be an absolute pleasure.

Comfort and tranquility

We stayed in this location on the night of December 8th, booking a Comfort quadruple accommodation with Booking. Upon our arrival we were informed that for logistical reasons unrelated to our booking, they had upgraded the accommodation by providing us with two double rooms close together but not communicating, all at no additional cost.
The farmhouse has been recently renovated, very tidy and with attention to detail. The two rooms assigned to us were large and spacious, with a bathroom equipped with a shower, convenient and comfortable, clean and fragrant.
The restaurant, large and bright.
We only enjoyed breakfast and the good quality products mainly satisfy sweet palates.
The only small criticism: the mattress of both double beds in our opinion were too soft, but this can certainly be subjective.
Courteous and helpful staff.
Definitely a recommended location, if we are in the area again, we would happily return.
